The Failed Production
I completed the "Hold On" Animatic in the fall of 2003. After finishing it I was very eager to begin filming but I had no male lead. I did however have a willing female so I decided to take a chance and swap genders. While I was not thrilled about this choice, I rationalized that there is no reason a female could not play the part, in fact it is somewhat of an untapped subject. And while that may or may not be true, my video was written for a male, there are some things you can sacrifice, the gender of your main character should not have to be one of them. I just wasn't happy with how it was looking. I wasn't excited about the cast, the sets, it all felt wrong. Anything else I would just do my magic in post and call it good, but this meant too much so I didn't take it any further. So without further a due, here is the footage from the initial round of production for Hold On available with (coming soon) or

A few months later, I made another attempt. I held a small unsuccessful casting call, but did manage to get a classmate, a male this time, into the idea of playing the part. Unfortunately, 10 minutes of test shoots was all I needed to realize that I was not going to be able to make this video the way I had envisioned it anytime soon.
Thinking back, it's hard to recall just what prompted me to start this project. I think I started work on it as a back up for a project due in a course at Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts. And I can't even begin to try and explain where the concept came from. I had the song, I knew I was going to do a complete 3D Animatic of the video I wanted to make, and I just went from there. After graduating I came back home, and started up production one final time. I worked for several months, scouting graveyards, looking for children, and it seemed like everything was coming into place. I was pleased with my sets, I was pleased with my cast, I was even pleased with a majority of the shots. Everything was going well, until one day it just wasn't. Production had just stopped. Here is the footage from that final round of production for Hold On available with (coming soon) or
