About the Hold Ov Video Remake
Idea: Remake the music video for the song “Hold on” by Good Charlotte.
Why: The original video in my opinion (and I know everybody’s a critic), is alright, I mean I don’t hate it, I have a lot of respect of GC, and good or bad I support them. The video or as MTV has said, more of a PSA, sends a decent message about not committing suicide with all the interviews of people who have attempted suicide and the friends and families of people who have committed suicide. The other half of the video though, is the band playing in a run down old house… De ja vue?

If you feel like you have seen this video before you probably have, this concept was used in a music video by: Sam Bayer for Blink 182 back in 2002, for there song "Stay together For the Kids." Though unlike "Hold on," which is about suicide, "For the Kids" is about devoice.

So being that “Hold on” hits very close to home with me, and I would have liked to have seen the song portrayed in a different way, I have decided that as a personal project I will do it my self…
The Music Video “Hold on” by: Good Charlotte
Directed by: Sam Bayer
Alright, aside from the fact that the "broken house" theme is somewhat unoriginal, enough has been said about it, don't beat a dead horse. is "Hold on" a good music video? If I had to choose between just yes or no, I would have to say no, it had potential. The song is talking about something really serous, and I feel like the video just glossed over it all. When the song kicks in the video just kind-a lazily roles along, Sam Bayer should have at least used the "Quake Cam" like he did in "Stay together For the Kids" that video had power. When the song got hard so did the video. There is no light side of depression, and I feel like this video somewhat depicts there is. But I'm not to say that I am right and that they're wrong, or to blame Sam for why I don't like it. It could have been his ideas it could have been the bands. They all had to think the video was a good idea or I doubt they would have made it. All the really matters is that Benji, Jole, Billy, Paul, and Chris, like there video, becaus nobody is closer to this stuff then they are.
So initially I conclude to say, if Good Charlotte thinks "Hold on" is a good video, than "Hold on" is a good music video, I'm just going to make another one.
